Meritza Kluge, OD
Meet Dr. Kluge
Dr. Meritza Kluge received her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology and Microbiology from the University of Central Florida. She then moved to Boston to attend The New England College of Optometry and received her Doctorate in Optometry.
During her education, Dr. Kluge earned clinical honors in primary care, ocular disease, and pediatrics. Her clinical training included rotations at Boston Medical Center, Dorchester House Community Health Center, Perkins School for the Blind, and the Providence VA Medical Center. While doing her studies at NECO, Dr. Kluge participated in Myopia research (Neural Contribution to the Mesopic Acuity Deficit in Myopia-Coletta et al ARVO 2007). She also worked at the New England College of Optometry as a clinical instructor and adjunct clinical faculty member for pediatric screenings. Dr. Kluge currently is an adjunct clinical Instructor at MCPHS in Worcester. Dr. Kluge is passionate about helping people improve their lives by optimizing their vision, health, and wellness with a customized approach.
Dr. Kluge has over 10 years of experience in private practice and has extensive experience in providing primary family eye care services, pre-and post-operative care, contact lens services with a special emphasis on pediatric eye care including myopia management therapy. She also has a strong interest in treating dry eyes.
Outside of optometry, Dr. Kluge enjoys yoga, cooking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors with her husband and daughter. Dr. Kluge is fluent in Spanish and conversational Portuguese.
