Meet Dr. Villazon
Santiago Villazón, M.D. has been practicing cataract and refractive surgery for over 25 years in the Boston area. Having completed over 50,000 procedures, Dr. Villazón is one of the most experienced surgeons in New England. He was Medical Director at TLC, Laser Eye Center-Boston from its inception in 1997 until January 2021. He has joined the most experienced refractive surgery team of New England at Boston Vision.
Dr. Villazón graduated cum laude from Yale College and earned his medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in ophthalmology and fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine. He continues as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology teaching the Boston University and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear ophthalmology residents at the Boston VAMC. He is an Affiliated Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the New England College of Optometry.
Dr. Villazón is a member of a number of professional medical societies including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Cornea Society, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
