Wonderful manner. Just a really good doctor

I first had a free consultation at Boston Vision Andover to see if I was a candidate. They did a lot of test and also dilated my eyes. They were very thorough. I was there for an hour or so. The doctor I saw told me my eyes seemed pretty dry so she wanted me to use artificial tears for a couple weeks then come back to meet with the surgeon Dr. Keshav. When I came back it was a pretty quick visit and the surgeon told me I was a candidate for lasik. I was able to book my lasik appointment that day for a couple months out. The scheduling coordinator Carriane emailed me a lot of paperwork to look over and fill out. Everything was clear and very detailed and explained the whole procedure and recovery. I was even able to email her and she got back to my questions right away. The day of the surgery I was nervous. They did tests for an hour first then gave me a small dosage of valium to calm my nerves and had me wait a few minutes. They also gave me a small bag with medicated eye drops, sunglasses, and a shield to sleep in for a week. They said I could have any of the snacks while I waited. When I went in the procedure room they handed me a stuffed animal to hold and covered me with a blanket. They put numbing drops in my eyes. I felt a LOT of pressure on my eyes, but not really pain, it was just really uncomfortable. They kept telling me I was doing great. They did the pressure on both eyes to make the flaps. Then they did the laser on both eyes. Again, it was uncomfortable because they kept pouring liquid into my eyes so I felt like I was tearing up and my nose kept running. When it was over I didnt feel pain in my eyes. The doctor looked at my eyes and said they looked great then sent me home. My vision was blurry on my ride home. When I got home I had to shut my eyes for four hours. It was hard to sleep because my eyes were burning a lot and it made my nose really stuffy. I finally was able to sleep. After four hours I opened my eyes and could actually see pretty clear already. My eyes werent burning anymore. I just had some dryness. I put the medicated drops in which I had to do every two hours. They also said I could use artificial tears, which have been helpful. The next day I could see clear and my eye doctor said my eyes looked great. Three days later, I have some haziness and dryness, but the dryness is a lot better. I can see clear for the most part. Sometimes my vision feels a little weird like I am getting used to a new prescription. I would definitely recommend Boston Vision for lasik. Even though the procedure was uncomfortable, it was so quick that it was worth it. The staff is thorough and very nice.
